Due to the unique changing size and shape a women’s body goes through during and after pregnancy, these guideline will help you choose the best fit for your AbdoMend Recovery and Bikini support belt.

The AbdoMend binders are designed with 6 to 9 inches of adjustability to help you transition back to your unique pre-pregnancy shape.

Pregnancy Support sizing guideline:

If needing support starting at your 6th or 7th month, consider that you will be increasing your measurement by 3 to 5 inches (8cm-13cm) between your 8th and 9th month. Take your measurement around your tummy; 2 inches below your belly button. Add 3 to 5 inches (8cm-13cm) to your measurement for the best approximate size.

Note: Please be aware that your recovery belt may stretch while being worn during pregnancy. To continue using the belt after delivery, whether vaginally or by caesarean, shrink the Recovery belt (not the Bikini Support strap) by washing in hot water and hang to dry. If you need further shrinkage, place the belt in the dryer.

The best support immediately after a vaginal birth is with our Hem-It-In belt which has a stronger inner elastic system.  This belt may also be used for additional support 3 weeks after a C-Section.

Scheduled C-Section sizing guideline:

The best time to measure is while you are 8 months pregnant. This measurement will be the closest size to fit after your delivery.

If you’re very close to your due date, a general guideline to follow is; subtract 3 to 5 inches (8cm-13cm) from your belly measurement.

Unscheduled C-Section sizing guideline:

If you find yourself needing our C-Section Recovery Belt for an unplanned caesarean; simply measure around your tummy; 2 inches (5cm) below your belly button.

Your body will be going through many changes as you may experience, swelling and fluid build up from your caesarean birth. Your AbdoMend Recovery belts are designed with 6 to 9 inches of adjustability to help you transition through your recovery and back to your unique pre-pregnancy shape.
